Ashley & Ryan — Beach Wedding at Hacienda Pinilla, Costa Rica
Ashley and Ryan began their wedding weekend with a relaxed welcome party in Tamarindo, giving everyone time to settle into Costa Rica and celebrate together before the wedding day. Surrounded by tropical scenery, warm evenings, and the Pacific coast, it was the perfect beginning to their destination wedding weekend.
Hacienda Pinilla is one of those places where the landscape naturally becomes part of the photographs. From the tropical surroundings to the changing light near the coast, there was never a need to pull them away from the experience of their wedding day just to create beautiful images.

My approach throughout their celebration was mostly documentary—following the people, interactions, and unexpected moments as they happened—while stepping in with a little direction when it made sense for portraits. I photographed the day on both digital and film, allowing the candid moments, atmosphere, details, and portraits to come together as one complete story. For couples planning a wedding in Hacienda Pinilla or elsewhere in Guanacaste, my goal is always the same: create photographs that feel natural, considered, and true to what the day actually felt like.
