Getting married in Costa Rica means celebrating in a place that naturally becomes part of your story. From the beaches of Guanacaste and the Pacific Coast to the rainforest around Arenal and the mountains of Monteverde, every wedding has its own setting, atmosphere, and energy.
As a Costa Rica wedding photographer, I photograph not only the big moments, but also the people around you, the landscape, the little interactions, and everything happening in between.

Hi, I'm Javier Mendez, a Wedding Photographer in Costa Rica
I photograph weddings with a documentary approach and an editorial eye. I’m drawn to real connection, beautiful light, movement, and all the little things happening around you that can easily go unnoticed in the moment.
Most of the day, I let things unfold naturally. When a little direction helps, I’ll step in and keep it simple, so you can stay present and enjoy what’s happening.
I work with couples from around the world, photographing destination weddings across Costa Rica in both film and digital.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY THAT FEELS LIKE YOUR DAY
My approach is relaxed and intentional. I want the photography to fit naturally into your wedding day, giving you space to be present with the people you love.
I observe what’s happening first and photograph things as they unfold. I’ll guide you when it helps—especially for portraits—but I also leave plenty of room for spontaneity, movement, laughter, and everything happening around you.
The result is a mix of documentary photographs and thoughtfully composed portraits that still feel natural and personal.
