Costa Rica Wedding Planners I've Worked With
A photographer's perspective on some of the wonderful people behind destination weddings in Costa Rica.
After more than 12 years of photographing weddings in Costa Rica, I've had the opportunity to work alongside some truly wonderful wedding planners.
One thing I've learned is that a great planner brings so much more to a wedding than beautiful designs and good organization. There's also the way they connect with their couples, handle the unexpected, and create an atmosphere where everyone can relax and enjoy the celebration.
Especially when you're planning a wedding from abroad, having the right people by your side can make all the difference.
Here are a few wedding planners I've had the pleasure of working with, along with some of the things I've come to appreciate about each of them.
Wedding Planners I've Had the Pleasure of Working With

Jenifer Hernandez Weddings

What I appreciate most about Jenifer is how personally invested she becomes in her couples. For her, planning a wedding goes beyond putting together a beautiful event. She genuinely cares about the people she's working with and the relationships she builds along the way.
I've also seen how quickly she can find solutions when unexpected challenges arise, which, as anyone who's worked in weddings knows, is an incredibly valuable quality. She pays attention to things that aren't always obvious, and that kind of care makes a real difference.
Nosara Magica Weddings
What I love about Nosara Mágica is how naturally they capture the spirit of the place. Being local, they understand Nosara's laid-back atmosphere, its beauty, and all the little things that make this part of Costa Rica so special.
Their weddings are beautiful and elegant, but never feel disconnected from their surroundings. There's always a sense of Nosara in what they create. Beyond their work, they're simply a wonderful team of people, and that makes the experience of working alongside them even more enjoyable.
One Heart Event Planning
I've been genuinely amazed by some of the celebrations One Heart has created. Their designs have such a distinctive personality, and I've watched couples and guests react with the same excitement I felt seeing everything come together.
But what makes them special to me goes beyond the decoration. They put so much heart into their work and genuinely care about their couples. They also make an effort to listen to every vendor involved, creating a collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels valued.
Heidy Quesada Co.
Heidy has a wonderful way of connecting with her couples. She's flexible in her approach and understands how important it is for people to experience their wedding in their own way, while she continues paying attention to everything happening behind the scenes.
I also really appreciate her eye for design. Her tropical celebrations feel elegant and beautifully considered, bringing together the natural surroundings and thoughtful details without losing that relaxed Costa Rican atmosphere.
Mil Besos Costa Rica
One thing that stands out to me about Mil Besos is the strength of their team. Whether they're planning something intimate or a more elaborate celebration, there's a clear sense of organization and attention behind everything they do.
They keep things running smoothly while making sure the vendors feel comfortable and supported. That might not always be something guests notice, but from behind the scenes, it makes a meaningful difference to how the entire day comes together.
Amore Paraíso
There's a lovely free-spirited feeling to the weddings Amore Paraíso creates. The couples I've worked with seem to value being present, enjoying their people, and letting the celebration unfold without unnecessary pressure.
What I appreciate about their approach is how naturally they make room for that experience. The weddings feel personal and unforced, with space for genuine moments to happen. As a photographer, that's something I always love to see.
Finding the Right Wedding Planner for You
Every couple approaches their wedding differently. Some imagine an intimate celebration surrounded by nature, while others want a full weekend with family and friends.
When choosing a wedding planner in Costa Rica, I'd encourage you to look beyond beautiful portfolios.
Take time to get to know the people behind the work. Ask about their planning process, how they communicate, and how they approach unexpected changes. Most importantly, pay attention to how comfortable you feel with them.
Especially when planning a destination wedding from the United States, having someone who understands the local venues, weather, logistics, and vendors can make the experience so much easier.
A Photographer's Perspective on Your Wedding Day
As a wedding photographer, I've learned that the experience of the day matters just as much as how beautiful everything looks.
A thoughtfully planned wedding gives couples room to be present, enjoy their guests, and appreciate all those little moments happening around them.
And that's something I value when working alongside a wedding planner. The flowers, the setting, and all the carefully chosen details are wonderful, but seeing a couple truly enjoy their wedding is just as meaningful.
If you're in the early stages of planning your destination wedding in Costa Rica, I hope these recommendations give you a helpful place to begin.
And if you're looking for a little inspiration, you're always welcome to explore some of the real weddings I've photographed throughout Costa Rica.
